Dr. J. Victor Duran
Dr. J. Victor Duran was born & raised in Houston, Texas. He completed his undergraduate education at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in Biology & Spanish. After attending graduate school at Dartmouth College, he continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2007 in the top quarter of his class. The following year he completed a general practice residency at York Hospital, in York, Pennsylvania. There he earned an outstanding resident award as well as an implant placement award.
Dr. Duran practiced clinically & taught dental assisting in the Philadelphia area for a few years prior to moving to the Midwest. There he joined the National Health Service Corps, first becoming a staff dentist in the Lake Superior Chippewa tribe in Wisconsin & later transferring to central Michigan. While in Michigan, he served as a legislative delegate in the Michigan Dental Association, as well as a member & treasurer of the Saginaw Valley Dental Association. He also became an adjunct faculty member to the University of Michigan dental school. After serving in both Wisconsin & Michigan’s public health arenas for five years, he worked in a private practice consistently voted the top in Saginaw for the past ten years. He has been a long standing member of the American Dental Association (ADA), and recently joined the New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA) and the local Southern Jersey Dental Society.
In addition to practicing and teaching dentistry, Dr. Duran enjoys the arts, reading, history, and hiking. He is also a bit of a Sci-Fi and comic book fan. Dr. Duran met his wife Nicole, a native of New Jersey, while he was in his third year of dental school. They share a love of animals, traveling, wine, and the beach. With the birth of their beautiful daughter, they decided it was time to move back towards family. For that reason Dr. Duran, Nicole, Madeleine, their dog Spock and their cat Beaker are happily residing in South Jersey.
